Termite heat treatments are an eco-friendly and highly effective method for eliminating drywood termites and localized infestations without the use of chemical pesticides. This process uses specialized equipment to raise the temperature of targeted areas—such as attics, wall voids, or entire rooms—to a level that is lethal to termites at all life stages. Because heat penetrates deep into wood and other structural materials, it can reach hidden colonies that might otherwise go untreated. Heat treatments offer a fast, residue-free solution that allows most properties to be reoccupied the same day, making them a preferred choice for homeowners seeking a non-chemical approach.
Preparing for a termite heat treatment involves removing or protecting heat-sensitive items to prevent damage. Before service, our team provides a detailed checklist to guide you through the process, which includes clearing clutter, securing valuables, and making the treatment zone easily accessible. During the service, technicians use sensors and high-powered heaters to raise and maintain the temperature at lethal levels for termites, carefully monitoring conditions to ensure effectiveness while protecting your structure. Afterward, the area is cooled and safe for immediate re-entry.
Remove heat-sensitive items such as candles, electronics, plants, certain plastics, and artwork from the treatment zone. Clear pathways for technicians to move equipment in and out, and ensure access to electrical outlets or power sources. Follow the pre-treatment checklist provided to avoid accidental damage to belongings.
Technicians will seal and isolate the treatment area, then use specialized heaters and fans to evenly distribute heat. Sensors are placed throughout to monitor temperatures, ensuring they reach and maintain lethal levels for the duration of the treatment. The process typically lasts several hours, depending on the size and complexity of the infestation.
Once the treatment is complete, the area is cooled and inspected for safety. You can return to normal use immediately, with no need for cleanup since there are no chemical residues. Monitor for any signs of continued termite activity and schedule follow-up inspections as recommended for long-term protection.
I was looking for pest control after another company failed to come out. I came across Rock Pest Control & seen that they had 5 star reviews across the board all the way back to 2 years. I haven’t even used them yet as I was to get my first service call next week. I received a text message this evening from Matt saying there was a cancellation & they will be by sooner! When I tell you the customer service is top notch you’ll have to get the service to believe it for yourself!! SUPER pleased I went with this company!! **UPDATE** I highly recommend this pest service company!! I recently move to Missouri from FL, but my husband was here already at our new home. Let me tell you this pest control company is amazing!! My card for one changed & they called & I got that situated. Two I told them I was now in town when before they knew I was out of town. I’m beyond amazing by this company! They are very detailed in their work. I never have to call them & they’re always on time when they say they’re going to be here. If not, they’re calling you immediately letting you know that they’re running “X” minutes behind. Yet I haven’t experienced that as of yet. Trust me you WON’T be disappointed!!
